| The Golden Ears Judo Club participated in the Vancouver International Judo Tournament on Saturday February 6 at Capilano University.
Andrew Posnar, in his first ever competition, won the novice men’s Heavyweight division. He was giving up at least 30 kilos in size to some of his adversaries. What made his victory even more remarkable is that Andrew is blind, and he was competing against opponents who were not!
Maciej Ingielewicz won the gold medal in Men’s Black Belt 73 kg division with an impressive display of throwing prowess.
Josh Jensen finished third in the Junior Men’s 90 kilo division.
Jordan Kilmartin and Ian Shea were 4th and 6th respectively in Cadet Men’s 66 kilos.
James Kanters was a strong fourth in the Men’s 90 kilo category.
Trevor Maxwell, in his first competition in the Junior Men’s advanced 73 kilo category, defeated two higher ranked opponents to finish in 4th place as well.
